Town Team Member
Location: Thetford Town Council
Salary: (SCP 7-12) £25,584 – £ 27,711 (Pay Award Pending)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Thetford is a growing town that prides itself on the facilities and open spaces that it provides to residents and visitors.  The Town Team, who play a critical role in the work that the Council does in these areas, needs to expand the services that it provides.

The Council is seeking a “Town Team” member to join its Community and Environmental Services team. The position, which is mainly Monday to Friday, is based on a 37-hour week.  There may be additional hours that need to be worked on weekends for emergencies or to support town team events, but these will be occasional.

As this is a public-facing role, you should be enthusiastic, have good people skills and share a collective pride in our town.

The position would suit a person who enjoys working outdoors, is flexible and willing to undertake a variety of tasks and thrives in a small team.

The role will involve physically demanding tasks and will require a good level of maintenance skills. We encourage those with a passion for horticulture to apply, as part of the role will include the planting and maintenance of some of our town’s floral displays.

A short test on conducting a risk assessment will be part of the interview process, as this will be a requirement of the role.

The post is 37 hours per week.
