The Carnegie was built and opened in 1968 and still today is the largest town centre venue for hire with a capacity of to 300 persons dependant on seating/table configurations for your event.
The venue plays host to a diverse range of activities and events ranging from medium scaled theatre productions, a comedy club, celebratory parties to sales and product launches, craft fairs and film shows.
The space consists of three rooms; the main auditorium, and two further areas ideal for meetings. All are fully equipped with integrated projector and screen and supported by a fully equipped kitchen, stage and dressing rooms and staffed licensed bar and a dedicated event team. The Carnegie can be hired on an hourly basis of blocked for the regular hirer.
