Karl the Barber

photo On Tuesday 30th June the Mayor went to visit Karl the Barber on his last day at his shop in Guildhall Street, Thetford.

Karl started the business at the tender age of 19 and has been in the same premises for 45 years, travelling to Thetford from Redgrave near Diss every day.

This means that Karl has cut at least two generations of a Thetford family’s hair including the Mayor as well as his father’s.

The Mayor presented Karl with a letter thanking him for his services to Thetford and wishing him luck in his future ventures.

Below is a picture of Karl cutting the Mayor’s hair and a copy of the letter the Mayor presented to Karl.

Thank you to Robert Kybird & Glynis Irish for the picture.
