Thetford is situated on the Norfolk/Suffolk border of East Anglia.  It is located on the A11(T) and A134 crossing the Little Ouse River.

Thetford is approximately 30 miles from Norwich, Cambridge and Ipswich, 50 miles from the coast and 80 miles from London.

The nearest airport is situated in Norwich with the closest major airport being London Stansted which is 51 miles away.  Jet Link buses are available from the Thetford Bus Station and regularly link to Norwich, Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow airports, for information telephone 08705 757 747.

Thetford is an historic market town with its markets taking place on a Tuesday and Saturday.  It also has a half closing day which is held on a Wednesday each week (not all shops close).  Thetford has no parking fees on any of its car parks, and can also be reached by coach and is on the main Norwich to Cambridge rail line.

Thetford is part of a very special area of countryside which is unique in Britain.  This area is called Breckland and stretches from the south of Norfolk into the north of Suffolk.  The Brecks is home to many rare flowers and birds including the Stone Curlew.
